Almond, my favorite nut is fortified with vitamins and minerals plus, its been studied to help lower your risks of heart disease.

Nut’s heart’s benefits are mainly due to its mono and polyunsaturated fats, compounds that can effectively reduce your cholesterol levels. Some super nuts do have enough amounts of omega-3 fatty acids which is also an essential nutrient for the body.

You probably have seen the word “nuts” from dozens of my posts here, indicating that this amazing food is not just nutritious, but are somewhat surprisingly helpful for weight loss. A research done by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests, that nuts if incorporated into your diet, may help in controlling your weight.

Another study by Purdue University states that people who regularly eat nuts tends to have a lower body mass index than those people who don’t. These studies all favors that eating nuts cannot harm your weight loss efforts nor it can contribute to weight gain.

Relationship Between Nuts and Weight Loss

Nuts have low glycemic index, which means that it can help you to eat less and feel full longer. The human body can efficiently ignore the calories from nuts, keeping your total calorie count low. Plus, nuts helps to eliminate excess fat into your stools, limiting your body’s fat intake.

In the studies mentioned above, nuts also helps increase the total number of calories you burn each day, even while you are asleep. This is mainly due to an increase on your resting energy expenditure, making you burn more calories at a higher rate while at rest.
